Behind the church of Notre-Dame de la Nativité, the splendid tomb of the Duc de Sully and his wife Rachel de Cochefilet was sculpted in white marble around 1641, a reminder of the great wealth and status of the former 'Surintendant Général', Lord of Nogent le Rotrou.
Visitors will no doubt be struck by the many statues, including one masterpiece: an Entombment of Christ of the Auxerre School in which some of the characters surrounding Christ are life size.
