Chartres in Christmas lights
Every year, Chartres en lumières is THE show not to be missed, with illuminations on the portals of Chartres Cathedral and around twenty other sites in the city.
Once December arrives, Chartres en lumières adds a little star dust to its scenography, decking Chartres' main monuments in Christmas colors.
The Three Wise Men, Christmas trees, holly garlands, snowflakes (and other surprises!) take command and become the protagonists in a fitting Christmas celebration.It's like spending New Year's Eve in front of all those magical stories told by the lights, absorbed as never before!

Before she became the secret wife of King Louis XIV, Madame de Maintenon was the governess of his illegitimate children, and used to tell them 1001 wonderful stories.
These fairy tales continues to amaze us to this day, in this latest edition of the Château de Maintenon's Hiver aux Merveilles (Winter of Wonders ), featuring princes and princesses.
Magical entertainment for young and old from December 7 to January 5, with magical nocturnes on December 21 and 28.
