The Royal Valley of the Eure is a cycle route covering 500km between Rouen and Tours. The itinerary follows the Eure from the Seine to Chartres and then crosses the Loir valley before turning off to join La Loire à Vélo near Tours.
An interconnecting route between the valley of the Seine and La Loire à Vélo, the Royal Valley of the Eure cycle route follows the river and its valley. It is a bucolic itinerary through countryside dotted with mills, wash-houses and magnificent châteaux that were once home to the mistresses of the Kings of France, including the Château of Diane de Poitiers in Anet and the Château of Maintenon, which was the backdrop to Louis XIV’s love affairs with Madame de Maintenon. Last but not least, enjoy a panoramic view upon arriving in Chartres, guided by the spires of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame.
